Don't want to go charging into burning buildings?  We do have other areas where you can help.  We have a support staff made up of dedicated volunteers who provide much needed support on the scene outside of the burning buildings.  We have also started a program to allow individuals certified as EMT or higher, to staff our First Responder Medical Squads.   They are not required to become firefighters.
What are the requirements to volunteer?  We ask for 48 hours per month from our volunteers.  These hours can be accumulated by doing 6, 10, 12, 18, or 24-hour shifts.  We conduct training every Monday night from 7:00 P.M. until about 9:30-10:00.  NWVFD responds to approximately 150-250 calls for service a month.  You do not need to live in our district to be a NWVFD volunteer.

How much does it cost?  It only cost some of your time and effort.  NWVFD provides all protective equipment and training.

So, if you have decided you want to try it and see if it is for you, here are your next steps.  First step is to fill out our online application by clicking the button below that directs you to our application.  After we receive your application, we perform a criminal background check along with a driving record check.  Once these steps are complete, we invite you to come by our training location, 12820 TC Jester, Houston, TX 77038 (near the intersection of Fallbrook @ TC Jester Blvd.), on a Monday night at 7:00 P.M.

From there you may continue to visit us on Monday nights until we have had time to review your application.  You must NOT have any criminal offenses on your record, NONE, and be willing to submit to drug testing prior to and randomly during your membership with Northwest VFD!!!  You must also have no more than 2 moving violations in the three years prior to be able to drive the fire apparatus.
We have a place for hardworking, motivated people.  If you are interested in being part of our team, our application is conveniently located online and can be accessed by clicking the "Apply Now" link below.  Should you have any questions, call us at 281-448-4084 or complete the contact us form below:
